Residential Treatment Centers for Teens & Adolescent in Wisconsin

Turning Winds is one of the leading teen treatment centers in America and we want to make sure your child gets the help they not only need, but deserve. If you have a teen that is struggling with any kind of mental health illness, behavioral health issue, and/or a substance use disorder (SUD), we want to help you take steps towards a better today and tomorrow for your teen.

How To Find The Best Teen Treatment

Your Goal

Your goal is to treat your child’s mental, emotional, and behavioral health so that they may build a strong healthy foundation that will help create a life full of success and happiness. In order to do this, we recommend going out-of-state and attending a long-term residential teen program.

Location, Location, Location

You may think that enrolling your child into a teen program close to home is the best option, but we have found that this actually has the power to hinder their long-term success. Your environment is unfortunately unhealthy right now and so removing your teen away from negative peer pressure, broken relationships in the home, stressed school environment, and more can have a momentous impact on their care, and ultimately their life. We understand that having your child away from home so young can be emotionally challenging, but we encourage you to look at this as an opportunity to have your child receive the best treatment plan so that they may be successful long after they graduate from their care. Going to a teen center out of state can also provide your child with the opportunity to learn new skills, explore new environments, and find new and exciting hobbies and interests. A fresh perspective could be the very thing that catapults your child to full healing.

Length of Stay

There are a variety of teen programs to choose from across the United States, but you want to make sure that you pick the rehab program that is best for your child’s needs. Level of care and how long they remain in rehab could be the difference between relapsing and living their best life. We have been treating teens since 2002 and have found that treatment is most successful when the child is attending 3 months or more. Outpatient programs, like Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs, are excellent options for when your teen is stepping down from a long-term plan, but should not be the first line of defense when it comes to treating your teens behavioral and mental health struggles.

Insurance and Cost

You may have insurance that could have the potential to cover at least some of the costs of treatment, but chances are you will need to account for costs outside your insurance coverage if you are looking for a long-term center. We understand that this can cause anxiety, but we encourage you to look at this like any other medical necessity. You wouldn’t go with the lesser care option if your child was struggling from a serious physical illness, so don’t do so with their mental health care. An excellent program will help guide you through the financial process and advocate for your child to get the best care possible. There are also ways to help you financially accomplish this goal, so before you give up hope, contact Turning Winds at 800-845-1380 to learn more about the cost of treatment and ways you could help pay for your teens care.
