How To Find The Best Teen Treatment

Your Goal

There is hope and healing if your teen is struggling with mental, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. The primary goal is to find a teen treatment rehab that will not only help your child heal, but help them build a strong foundation so that they may live up to their truest potential. Your teen is not a bad kid trying to get good, they are struggling and they need help to get well. Let’s help you and them get just that.

Location, Location, Location

Turning Winds has helped teens and their families from all over the U.S. and we have found that out-of-state treatment centers are the best options. They offer a new perspective, an escape from unhealthy influences, and an opportunity to focus all their energy on their recovery program. The outdoors more specifically can provide healing for the mind and body so when looking for a teen treatment program, we suggest you find one that provides activities like skiing, hiking, camping, volunteer service, and more. Our campus here at Turning Winds is located in the beautiful mountains of Troy, Montana and we have seen what nature has done for these teens mental and physical well-being. We understand that sending your child away from home and to treatment center out-of-state can be unnerving, but it’s the best opportunity for your kiddo to not only heal, but learn new things, try new activities, and meet new people all while discovering their true self and building a foundation so that they may live a life full of purpose, happiness, and success.

Length of Stay

Length of stay is more important than many think. We strongly suggest a teen treatment program that provides at least 3 months of care. Anything less than 90 days may be a disservice your teens care and ultimate long-term recovery. The longer your child has the opportunity to work on themselves, develop healthy habits, build up their self-esteem, and rebuild their GPA in school, the better chance they will have at continuing implementing this new way of life into their aftercare and ultimately the rest of their lives.

Insurance and Cost

There are some insurance companies that will pay for at least part of their treatment care, but there may still be out-of-pocket expenses. No matter what program you decide on they should help you navigate your insurance coverage and costs and provide information and resources on how you could fund treatment all while advocating for the best care for your teen. We suggest you contact your insurance company along with the treatment programs you are interested in so that you may discover what your plan does cover and what you will have to pay out-of-pocket. If you need further assistance with this process, please have your insurance card ready and call us at 800-845-1380 to find out what steps you can take in order to pay for the best care for your child.
