We have helped teens all over the country and in some cases world, so don’t just limit your search for care to in-state only. Sending your toon to a rehab program out of state offers a plethora of benefits to their overall health including the healing power of the environment that they are in, the ability to build new friendships and relationships with staff and peers based on common goals, and an opportunity to focus solely on their recovery and treatment plan without the distractions and triggers of home. It may seem daunting to send your teen to a rehab center out-of-state, but in the long run it could be the very best thing for them to heal, recover and live a life full of happiness and purpose.
From our experience, we would suggest an adolescent treatment center that offers a minimum stay of 3-6 months or more. The miracles we see are real and length of stay absolutely matters when it comes to your teen’s recovery. Your child’s mental health struggles and unhealthy, dangerous behaviors did not develop overnight; it would be unfair and unrealistic to expect them to recover and heal in a few short months.
