How To Find The Best Teen Treatment

Your Goal

Your teen may be struggling with a mental, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues, so the type of care is going to be crucial when deciding on what teen treatment pro-gram you should send them to. Recovery is a process and takes longer than your aver-age 30 day stay treatment center. Your teen needs to work through unresolved issues so that they can break the cycle of their bad habits that have been holding them back unnecessarily. The primary goal is to find a teen treatment center for your child that will give lasting results so they may go on to live a productive and happy life.

Location, Location, Location

Turning Winds has helped thousands of teens and their families from all over the United States and we have found that treatment centers out-of-state offer the best opportunity for full recovery. Removing your teen from their home environment will allow them to put all their focus and energy on their healing, health, and self without any distractions. Turning Winds campus is located in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains of Troy, Montana and we have witnessed what nature and a caring therapeutic environment has done for these teens and their families. We fully understand that sending your child away to an out-of-state treatment program can be unnerving, but we want you to look at it is as the best chance for your child to not only recover life-long, but learn new talents, discover new hobbies, and meet new people all while building a fresh new perspective to live a life full of purpose, true happiness, and success.

Length of Stay

From our many years of experience, we strongly suggest a teen treatment program that provides a minimum stay of 3-6 months. Anything less could be a disservice to your child’s overall long-term recovery. The longer your teen has the chance to work on themselves, develop healthier habits and coping skills, while also working on self-esteem issues and building up their GPA, the better off they are at continuing to implement these new positive behaviors in their daily lives outside of treatment.

Insurance and Cost

Some private or commercial insurance companies will pay for part of the treatment care plan depending on what type of coverage you have. In many cases however, they will only pay for part of the care leaving the rest of the expenses up to the family to pay. An excellent program will help you navigate your insurance coverage, provide information and resources on how to fund for your teen’s treatment, and advocate for the best care possible for your kiddo. This can be an anxiety provoking process, so if you need help navigating what next steps you should take, please feel free to call our Admissions line at 800-845-1380. Sometimes the hardest step is making that first call, so let us help make that step easier.
