Wisconsin State Resources for Parents of Troubled Adolescents

: Mental Health America of Wisconsin (MHA) is an affiliate of the nation’s leading community-based non-profit dedicated to helping all Americans achieve wellness by living mentally healthier lives. Our work is driven by our commitment to promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness. Our message is simple: Good mental health is fundamental to the health and well-being of every person and of the nation as a whole. We want all people to understand how to protect and improve their mental health and know when to seek help for themselves or someone close to them.

Families from Wisconsin have made Turning Winds their first choice for child remediation and direction. Parents, exploring support for their child, can expect a team of compassionate, experienced clinicians and leaders here at Turning Winds. Turning Winds operates from the understanding that "remediation" must come from the inside-out, not from the outside-in. We are dedicated to offering support to not only teen boys and girls suffering from bipolar disorder, meth abuse/addiction, or anger misconduct, but also the entire family; with the direction they need for lasting remediation.

Because working with highly resistant teenage boys and girls is challenging, most programs rely on level systems, punishments, and other behavioral techniques to manage the teen’s behavior. However, Turning Winds recognizes that the personal circumstances of one troubled child doesn’t always apply to all of our young clients. Because of this, Turning Winds’ experienced clinicians are dedicated to the management of each teenagers requirements; and they do this with professionalism and sympathy. At Turning Winds, we involve the entire family (especially the parents) in the teenager’s therapy, remediation, and support. Turning Winds has served numerous troubled teen boys and girls over the years. Our track record has proven to cause life changing results for our young clients and their families.

Our purpose is to see your struggling child make a successful transition into adulthood, while living independently as a dignified young adult.
