At Turning Winds, we work with adolescents who have seemingly given up on life. Often, these teen boys and girls are dealing with multiple mental health issues and are simply crying out for help. We can help adolescents who are dealing with bipolar disorder, failure in school, poor decision making, and those with emotional and behavioral disorders. Our program seeks to bring issues to the light where they can be properly treated.
Not only do we work to bring change to a adolescent’s heart, mind, and soul, but we also provide them the necessary tools for thriving in their academic studies. Turning Winds offers a stellar academic program that has led to our clients successfully maintaining a GPA average of 3.5.

Turning Winds is an accredited program that offers the best treatment aspects of a residential treatment center and Outdoor Therapy program rolled into one. We have been accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission and the National Independent Private Schools Association. Through communing with the great outdoors, we teach teen boys and girls to become problem solvers and to learn to make wise decisions. Most parents are amazed when they see a strong work ethic developing in their once lackadaisical child.
There is something special about getting away from it all, breathing fresh air, and becoming one with nature that begins to transform the attitude, mindset, and heart of belligerent teen boys and girls. With no social distractions and no media presence of any kind, adolescents can actually focus on recovering from opiate abuse/addiction and alcohol dependence, so they can be successful in their academic studies.
At Turning Winds, we believe every adolescent has the potential to excel in academics. The goal of our program is to help adolescents identify their learning strengths so we can capitalize on them and help them see success that continues to expand. Our staff to student ratio is 5:1, so we can provide teen boys and girls the full attention they require to benefit from our Residential Treatment Center and have their therapeutic needs met.
