This disorder is characterized by the fear of gaining weight, a disturbed perception of the shape and/or size of one’s body and the refusal to maintain a normal body weight. The majority of persons who have this disorder restrict their food intake or engage in excessive exercising. Treating this type of disorder is typically beyond the scope of what our boarding school deals with. For information on boarding schools that treat Anorexia Nervosa please call our admissions office to be referred to the appropriate treatment facility.
