Does Insurance Cover Treatment?

The short and happy answer is yes. All plans by law must cover mental health and substance abuse services as they are deemed essential health benefits. By law, your plan must cover:

  • Psychotherapy and other behavioral health treatments
  • Inpatient mental and behavioral health services
  • Substance abuse treatment
  • Pre-existing conditions
  • Acute mental health inpatient services
  • In-patient care in an approved facility
  • Intensive outpatient care (IOP)
  • Detox medications
  • Co-occurring mental health conditions

Your specific benefits will depend on a few variables: where you live, the plan you choose, and your employer’s benefits package. For example, you may encounter the need for preauthorization, deductibles, copayments, and out-of-pocket payment limits. Turning Winds is an out-of-network provider that works with all major payers for treatment ranging from Residential Care (RTC), Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Intensive outpatient care (IOP). The first step to determining coverage is to have our team process a Verifications of Benefits which will provide you with the details of what services your medical policy provides.

Turning Winds is accredited by Cognia, providing one of the most valuable marks of distinction an education program can obtain. With this accreditation, the credits earned while enrolled in our academic institute will transfer to schools and universities across the nation. A good education is a backbone to set your teens up for long-term success, and proper accreditation can ensure that your teen is receiving a quality education through our boarding school program.

Can My Son or Daughter Earn A High School Diploma?

Yes, our accreditation is accepted across the nation and students routinely earn their high school diplomas from our school. Depending on your teens education level upon enrollment, students also have the opportunity to begin taking college-level courses. The decision on which path to pursue is made together by students, parents and faculty. Since we offer college-level courses, our students have been able to earn up to 20 transferable college credits during their stay.

Are Your Teachers Certified?

Yes, our education staff is fully certified through the state of Montana. The teachers we employ, including a special education instructor, come from diverse backgrounds and bring unique perspectives to our education program. The one thing they all have in common is a passion for helping each and every student find success on their journey. Our small class sizes of 10 -12 students allow our teachers to focus their time and attention on each student’s individual needs.

Do I Give My Teen One More Chance?

We are experts in human behavior and understand that once a path is chosen, it is usually followed unless an intervention is made. We like to use the analogy that as humans, we can be likened to a tree. When the tree is young it is very pliable, its roots are not as deep and it can be moved in any direction. The older and bigger the tree gets, the deeper the roots grow and the less malleable it becomes. People in a sense, are similar. The longer we hold onto behaviors, the more ingrained they become which makes it increasingly difficult to change on our own. The sooner your teen comes to us, the better the chances are of making an actionable change. Turning Winds can work with almost any teen, in any stage of life, and we know we can help them make the changes needed. Call us today to speak to an admissions counselor at 800-845-1380.

What Are The Chances My Child Will Actually Change?

We have spent years developing our unique hybrid program that gives teens the best chance of success. The probability your child will change for the better is extremely high. We pride ourselves in the ability to provide an environment where struggling teens have an optimal chance to succeed. While there are no guarantees in life, and it’s up to your teen to make the decision to change, our program provides significant pull through our influential staff, strong peer culture, and evidence-based care to promote your teen’s healing and growth. Overall, Turning Winds has a success rate you can be confident in.

Will My Child Ever Forgive Me?

The decision to send your child to treatment can be very difficult on a parent and there certainly may be resentment at first, but this often dissipates with time and reconciliation. In most cases, teens become emotional upon reunion with their family and often thank their parents for saving their lives. The moment you know it was all worth it, the light at the end of a dark tunnel, that’s a moment you can look forward to.

How Long Does the Program Last?

One of the unique features of our program is that our length of stay lasts longer than other inpatient treatment options allowing the time and space for real change. The average length of stay is around 9 months but can span up to 12 months or longer depending on each teen’s individual needs. The ultimate goal is to keep our teens working through the program until we are confident they can be successful in the future.
