About Turning Winds

Our world DOES make a difference. Turning Winds Academic Institute provides a structured, academic, self discovering, therapeutic program for troubled teens between the ages of twelve and eighteen.

Turning Winds Academic Institute specializes in three distinct areas: Behavior modification, emotional stability and academic achievement. We attribute the tremendous success we have had with the troubled youth we have worked with over the past years on the work that has been done in these areas.

Our trained staff has a combined experience of over 60 years in working with at-risk youth, at group homes for troubled teens, thus allowing them to think quickly and act appropriately in any given situation. Our highly successful individualized program allows us to focus on each individual student, thus preventing any student from "slipping through the crack."

Our services include individualized therapy with a licensed therapist, behavior modification, outdoor recreation (we utilize many components found in summer camps for troubled teens and wilderness programs for troubled teens), development of life skills, the teaching of appropriate social relationships, leadership development, field trips which are conducive to learning and a fully accredited academic institute with a time tested individualized one-on-one teaching style. All of these services help our students to develop the character needed to succeed where they have failed in the past. We believe character is the key component to successful living and life satisfaction. Character is developed by promoting the following virtues:
